Parents and Athletes,
It’s about time to begin a new Fort Collins Track Club USA Track & Field outdoor season! Congratulations to all the athletes on a great season both indoors and outdoors in 2007 and I look forward to more of the same in 2008. We got off to a great start with many successes during the 2007 indoor season including a Simplot championship from Mason Finley in the shot put.
We are having a parents meeting and registration on Monday, May 5th at 8:00 p.m. at the Harmony Library meeting room. The Harmony Library is located at Harmony and Shields on the Front Range Community College Campus. The library is at the west end of the campus. It is important that all athletes and their parents attend this meeting so we can determine the correct sizes for the uniforms and warm-ups. Please read the information describing the program, then bring a registration form, liability waiver, and a merchandise order form for each athlete. Please bring the forms and a copy of each athletes birth certificate to the registration meeting. If you cannot attend the parents meeting, please mail your registration and order form to: FCTC, 1231 Westwood Drive, Windsor, CO 80550.
Every athlete will receive competition shorts and singlet with club registration. If you prefer other uniform choices (speedsuits, etc.), they must be purchased separately. There is an order form for uniforms, warm-ups, and other garments if you choose to purchase them. We still have a good supply of used warm-ups in excellent condition for sale at a significant discount. Please bring your orders to the meeting on May 5th, so you can have your order filled in time for the season. This includes all junior high and high school athletes. If parents or siblings would like to order a t-shirt, sweatshirt, etc. they should be included on the same order form. We will have samples of all items at the meeting. Your club registration includes the shorts and singlet, USAT&F membership for 2008, all meet entry fees, the use of the practice facility during scheduled practice times, and friendly coaches.
We have responsibility for working three meets this year; the Fort Collins Track Club Invitational on June 14, the Multi-Event State Championships on June 19-20, and the Colorado Junior Olympic Championships on June 21-22. Parents, we will need a lot of volunteers for these meets. Please sign up on the volunteer sign up sheets. No experience needed!!
I look forward to seeing all of you on May 5th.
Best regards,
Coach Markham
